The Magic of Web Syndication to Drive Traffic to Your Blog

email

A blog is your central hub of your marketing strategy. However, you cannot monetize your blog if you do not generate traffic. Think of your blog as an island out in Google Ocean. Your job is to construct bridges from your island (blog) to the rest of the world. How do we do this, you ask? Simple answer: Web Syndication of your blog posts.

Web syndication is a form of syndication in which website material is made available to multiple other sites. (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). There are so many places being added daily that you can submit your content.

The more places you submit your original content, the more exposure you will have in front of your prospects. To get you started, here are several venues my colleagues and/or I are using to generate traffic to our blogs.

Aweber Blog Broadcast

After publishing your articles on your blog, your blogging software publishes content automatically to an RSS feed containing your newest blog posts.

The Blog Broadcast feature works by pulling the content from your blog and reformatting it into an email newsletter. Readers who subscribe to your newsletter will automatically receive them.

Facebook

You can place your blog content on Facebook either automatic and/or manually.

Automatic

  • Connect your blog automatically to your profile wall and/or to your like page. Each new blog post will appear on your profile wall.

Manually

  • Provide link to your blog post in your facebook group. Be sure to also send out message to your group members.

  • Share your blog post link with other facebook groups and friends’ walls. Use caution: post to quickly and your account will be flagged for excessive posting.

There are several different social media sites. The principal you learned to socialize on Facebook is still the same on the other sites. Explore and find other social media sites to build relationships by providing good content.

Better Networker

As a serious network marketer, you want to be a member of Better Networker. Socialize and learn from top earners of the industry. There is a wealth of knowledge in this community.

A free member will have access to forums. Comment on other forum posts on a topic relating to your blog content. In the signature line provide a link back to your blog.

With a paid membership, you can submit your article and videos to the Better Networker site. Create a new forum post introducing your submitted content. Do not place the link back to your blog, but to your content on Better Networker.

Automatic Article Submitter (One-time Purchase)

This is a good program to submit to several article directories at once. There are over 300 directories in this program; however, due to issues with the individual websites, not all submissions will be accepted.

There has been some debate on the subject of spinning your articles. After some research, I feel confident to advice that you should at least spin the title and resource box.

Manual Submission to Directories

There are a couple directories that is not part of the submitter mentioned above that you should also utilize. Remember the more communities you post within, the more you are branding yourself.

  • Squidoo — is a community website that allows users to create pages (called lenses) for subjects of interest. Squidoo is in the top 500 most visited sites in the world, and in the top 300 most viewed in the United States. (Wikipedia)

  • EzineArticles — [...] your original articles and expertise may be exposed to hundreds of thousands or even millions of people rather than waiting passively for someone to syndicate it on yet another website with no traffic. (EzineArticles)

MLSP

As a member, you can add your articles to your back office. MLSP is a very high ranking site and when you include your content, it will be recognized by google.

Your articles will be displayed on your landing pages in order to provide a higher quality score for doing pay per click advertising as well as search engine rankings.

Tribe Syndication

The Unified Tribe is a pay per month site. You set up comments for friends to cut and paste to put on their social sites and share with their friends.

The Tribe Syndication Association (TSA) is a free site. You will be assigned a day for members of your group to visit your blog and leave comments. In turn, everyday, you will connect and comment on at least two other member’s blog. Everyone will also use the share button to syndicate to their social media sites.

Video Syndication

Create an introductory video about your article. You can either sit in front of a camera or create a power point presentation and narrate. Submit them to video submission sites.

Traffic geyser is a pay per month video submission site. Upload your video once and have syndicated to other video sharing sites.

There are several top sites in which you can upload your video for free and share with your social media friends. A list of these sites and additional venues is available in the Blog Post Syndication Check List below.

    Hi Tamra,

Great list and thanks for the checklist. I never thought about also sending a message on FB when writing a new blog post. I’ll have to start doing that. I love the autoresponder blog broadcast (so simple/automatic) and of course TSA is Awesome!!!

    Thanks, Laura

    Hi Tamra,

This is an excellent post full of valuable tips on blog syndication. I didn’t know about some of these places, such as Better Networker. I’ll definitely be checking these resources out as time permits. (It’s been a crazy busy week for me).

Appreciate the checklist. Excellent work. It will come in very handy in keeping everything I’m doing to syndicate my blog in an organized manner. I usually write this down on a piece of paper (yes, I’m still using pen and paper!) but it’s not organized at all and hard to track that way. I will definitely use your checklist. Thanks for that!

I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts. You are very knowledgeable! I’m so glad to have found you via TSA.

    Best Wishes!

    Hey Tamra,

Excellent post! You did a great job outlining how someone can get their content.

As a fellow member of MLSP I completely agree with you about the value of adding the articles in your back office and then to your different campaigns.

I downloaded your check-list and will be added it to my daily marketing.

    Erica, Peter, Michael, & Howie,

I find staying organized helps eliminate a lot of what overwhelms most people. As you look around my blog, I have incorporated some type of a worksheet through my posts.

Since it seems to be helpful to you all, I will be working on setting them up under “Download” to give easy assess to all of the forms.

    Thank you again for commenting.
